Motivated by understanding and improving separation processes, the couplings between hydrodynamic instabilities and the concentration boundary layer forming at a semi-permeable membrane are addressed numerically and analytically in the set-up of a Taylor-Couette cell with semi-permeable cylinders, filled with a solution and swept by a superimposed radial flow.
